Q: I downloaded a song that doesn't sound at all like Cedric singing. What is this?
A: There is a lot of confusion about what songs are actually The Mars Volta and which aren't. Me, Intial, Bunel Home, Bach Song, Corelli Theme, and Things' Fear are by an Italian electronica band called Mars Volta (without the 'the'). State Your Preference, Eat The Sun and Untitled Demo #2 are all mistitled versions of Cicatriz. On Kazaa you can also find dummy songs such as I Cut My Teeth (by The VSS), Glue In Carpet (by The Locust), and Wasting My Air. However, Ambuletz, although it sounds nothing like all their other songs, is indeed a The Mars Volta song.

Q: Why the name The Mars Volta?
A: It is a reference to films of Italian film maker Federico Fellini.

Q: What equipment and effects do they use?
A: An excellent reference guide to this can be found at [atdiequipment.cjb.net].

The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout down came the rain and washed the spider out out came the sun and dried up all the rain and the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the spout again. the only thing about that story I always thought *unaudible* when all of the sudden they left I have never seen him since hmmm. mommy or daddy, have mommy or daddy ever had to spank you?"

Q: What does the spanish part of Concertina mean?
A: "although you left me sweating at sea/lie down on the ground/the reality of your dream/hands my memory/i only hate you/i'm leaving". Or something to that effect.

Q: What is De-Loused in the Comatorium all about?
A: There are some excellent article scans at [The Comatorium] where Omar and Cedric talk about it themselves.

Q: What the hell do the lyrics mean?
A: Either try to figure it out yourself (it's not like it's John Donne), or see the lyrics interpretations at [The Comatorium] for some fan interpretations. Another good place to check for fans' views is [www.songmeanings.net]
